As head coach of Illinois Faith, I am very well connected in the Aurora, Illinois Area for basketball. Throughout the season I had personal connections with college coaches. I had a close friend of mine Coach Anthony Figueora come out to my Illinois Faith basketball practice and speak to my players. He spoke about the college experience and what it takes to play at the college level. e also stayed to evaluate my players. Coach Anthony will be the assistant coach at Northwestern State University in Louisiana (D1 College)

Coach Nelson with Coach Shonder

As head coach of Illinois Faith AAU Basketball, players that play for my program, I have college coaches come out and check them out during the season. Being well connected with coaches, I had a great friend of mine Coach Matt Shonder stop by my teams practice and evaluate my team for future prospects. Coach Shonder gave a great speech about the college experience and what he looks for in basketball talent. Just another example of the connections that Coach Nelson has. Coach Shonder is the assistant coach at Andrew College (Juco College)
